Amazon Lightsail expands to Asia Pacific, Malaysia region
Amazon Lightsail is now available in the Asia Pacific (Malaysia) Region, enhancing performance and meeting local data residency needs for users in the area.
Amazon has announced the availability of its Lightsail service in the Asia Pacific (Malaysia) Region starting today. This strategic expansion aims to deliver the robust and user-friendly features of Lightsail to customers in Malaysia and the surrounding areas. The introduction of this new region is expected to enhance application performance and reduce latency for users in these locations, while also allowing them to adhere to local data residency requirements.
The new Malaysian region offers access to the complete suite of Lightsail features. These include a variety of instance types tailored to different computing needs, ranging from general-purpose to compute-optimized and memory-optimized options. Additionally, users can benefit from managed databases, container services, load balancers, and more, all under Lightsail’s straightforward and predictable pricing model that has become a hallmark of its service.
With this launch, Amazon Lightsail is now operational in several AWS Regions, including US East (Ohio, N. Virginia), US West (Oregon), Canada (Central), and multiple locations across Europe, such as Frankfurt, Ireland, London, Paris, and Stockholm. In Asia Pacific, besides Malaysia, Lightsail is also available in Jakarta, Mumbai, Seoul, Singapore, Sydney, and Tokyo.
Customers can access this new region through various platforms, including the Lightsail Console, AWS Command Line Interface (CLI), and AWS SDKs.
