Apple Expands ‘Tap to Pay on iPhone’ Feature to More Countries

Apple has expanded its ‘Tap to Pay on iPhone’ feature to several new markets, including France, the Netherlands, and Brazil. This feature allows merchants to accept contactless payments directly on their iPhones without the need for additional hardware like card readers or terminals.

Initially launched in the U.S., Tap to Pay uses the iPhone’s NFC chip and works with Apple Pay, contactless credit and debit cards, and other digital wallets. The expansion is seen as a move that could disrupt the traditional POS (Point of Sale) hardware industry and encourage small businesses to adopt mobile-first payment solutions more rapidly.
