Google’s most advanced AI video generation model, Veo 3, is now available in India
Google has rolled out its most advanced generative AI video tool — Veo 3 — in India. Announced during Google I/O 2025, the model is now accessible to users with a Gemini Pro subscription, marking Google’s latest push in the AI-driven creative space.
Veo 3 enables users to generate eight-second video clips complete with audio, including spoken dialogue, background music, and sound effects, adding a layer of realism that goes beyond static visuals. The model allows you to transform creative prompts — like imagining historical events through a modern lens or conjuring surreal scenarios — into cinematic, audio-rich videos.
Google said in a blog post, “From reimagining historical events through the eyes of a modern influencer to exploring what it would sound like to cut through a glass apple, to quite a few sightings of the mythical Bigfoot, your imagination is the limit when you create photos and videos on Gemini. These amazing creations are why we on the Veo 3 team do what we do — and why we’re making Veo 3 available to more people around the world.”
Unveiled at the company’s annual developer conference on May 20, Veo 3 is being touted as Google’s answer to OpenAI’s Sora. What sets Veo 3 apart is its ability to generate highly realistic videos with audio, complete with accurate lip-syncing, natural physics, and visually striking scenes. Eli Collins, VP of product at Google DeepMind, noted that the model shines in blending text and image prompting with real-world dynamics.
All videos generated using Veo 3 include both a visible watermark and an invisible SynthID watermark, clearly indicating that the content was AI-generated. Google emphasised that it has carried out extensive red-teaming and model evaluation to ensure the responsible and safe deployment of the technology.
Since its unveiling, Veo 3 has already inspired creators to experiment. Several users shared their creations on social media, showcasing the tool’s capabilities in crafting imaginative and cinematic short clips.
With this launch, Google is strengthening its portfolio of AI-powered creative tools, offering Indian users access to cutting-edge generative video technology and positioning itself as a strong contender in the evolving AI media space.
