AWS Network Firewall expands with new managed rules from marketplace partners

AWS Network Firewall has expanded its Managed Rules through AWS Marketplace partners, enhancing threat protection with up to 10 million domain indicators and 1 million IP addresses.

AWS Network Firewall has enhanced its capabilities by incorporating expanded Managed Rules from its Marketplace partners. These enhancements include optimizations in rule groups, allowing for the inclusion of up to 10 million domain name indicators and up to 1 million IP addresses. Among the partners, Infoblox has broadened its domain name indicators to protect workloads from critical and high-risk domains. Lumen has introduced new rule groups aimed at preventing command and control attacks. Meanwhile, ThreatSTOP is contributing managed rules for Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctions and has extended global compliance protections by covering new sanctions from the European Union, Japan, and the United Nations.

These advancements provide users with enriched and comprehensive threat intelligence within AWS Network Firewall, effectively reducing the operational burden associated with managing threat feeds. This enhancement enables quicker and more precise protection against emerging threats. Whether the need is to block malicious domains on a large scale, defend against command and control infrastructures, or enforce compliance policies based on sanctions, the managed rules from AWS Marketplace partners offer ready-to-deploy and continuously updated protections for cloud workloads.

Managed rules for AWS Network Firewall are accessible from AWS Marketplace vendors such as Check Point, Fortinet, Infoblox, Lumen, Rapid7, ThreatSTOP, and Trend Micro. Additionally, AWS Marketplace rule groups have been made available in nine new AWS Regions, including Asia Pacific (Jakarta), Asia Pacific (Hyderabad), Asia Pacific (Melbourne), Asia Pacific (Malaysia), Canada West (Calgary), Europe (Zurich), Europe (Spain), Israel (Tel Aviv), and Mexico (Central). For a complete listing of supported regions, users are encouraged to visit the AWS Regional Services page.

To begin utilizing these enhancements, users can visit the AWS Network Firewall console or explore the available managed rules on AWS Marketplace. For further details, the AWS Network Firewall product page and service documentation provide comprehensive information.
