Amazon MSK extends Express brokers to Cape Town and Taipei
Amazon MSK has introduced Express brokers to the Africa (Cape Town) and Asia Pacific (Taipei) regions, enhancing throughput and scalability for users.
Amazon Managed Streaming for Apache Kafka (Amazon MSK) has announced the expansion of its Express brokers to the Africa (Cape Town) and Asia Pacific (Taipei) regions. This development allows users in these regions to create provisioned Amazon MSK clusters equipped with Express brokers.
Express brokers represent a novel type of broker for Amazon MSK Provisioned. They are engineered to provide up to three times more throughput per broker, scale operations up to 20 times faster, and significantly decrease recovery times by 90% when compared to standard Apache Kafka brokers. These brokers are pre-configured with Kafka best practices, ensuring optimal performance from the outset. They support all Kafka APIs and offer the low-latency performance that Amazon MSK users have come to rely on. This means that existing client applications can continue to function without any modifications.
To begin utilizing these capabilities, users can create a new cluster with Express brokers via the Amazon MSK console or the Amazon Command Line Interface (CLI). For additional details, users are encouraged to consult the Amazon MSK Developer Guide.
