Amazon EC2 C8id instances now available in Europe (Spain)

Amazon has launched its EC2 C8id instances in Europe (Spain), offering enhanced performance and memory bandwidth. These instances are ideal for compute-intensive applications.

Amazon has announced the availability of its Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) C8id instances in the Europe (Spain) region. These instances are powered by custom Intel Xeon 6 processors, featuring up to 384 virtual CPUs, 768 GiB of memory, and 22.8 TB of NVMe SSD storage. They offer up to 43% higher performance and 3.3 times more memory bandwidth than the previous generation C6id instances.

The C8id instances are designed to enhance performance for I/O intensive database workloads and can deliver up to 46% higher performance, as well as up to 30% faster query results for real-time data analytics compared to the sixth-generation instances. Additionally, these instances come with Instance Bandwidth Configuration, which allows for a flexible allocation of up to 25% between network and EBS bandwidth, optimizing resource allocation for various workloads.

These instances are particularly suitable for compute-intensive tasks such as high-performance web servers, batch processing, distributed analytics, ad serving, video encoding, and gaming servers. Currently, C8id instances are available in several regions including US East (N. Virginia, Ohio), US West (Oregon), Europe (Frankfurt, Spain), and Asia Pacific (Tokyo).

Customers can acquire these instances through different purchasing options, including Savings Plans, On-Demand instances, and Spot instances. For more detailed information, customers are encouraged to visit the Amazon EC2 instance type page.
