Amazon CloudWatch Omni expands to more AWS regions

Amazon CloudWatch Omni has expanded its availability to eight new AWS Regions, enhancing its AI-driven observability capabilities for various cloud services.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced the expansion of Amazon CloudWatch Omni to eight additional AWS Regions. CloudWatch Omni is an AI-driven observability platform designed to assist teams in monitoring and troubleshooting their applications and agents in a centralized manner. It leverages the interoperability of OpenTelemetry, integrated with the scalability and dependability of CloudWatch, and offers users a choice between a standalone web interface with single sign-on (SSO) capabilities or a local integrated development environment (IDE) extension.

CloudWatch Omni enables users to create spaces within their central accounts, allowing them to monitor telemetry data across various AWS accounts, Regions, and even other cloud services such as Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The platform automatically identifies services, maps out dependencies, and highlights key metrics, enabling users to engage with telemetry data through chat, a point-and-click interface, or their own tools via the Agent Toolkit for AWS. This functionality supports the discovery of signals, the construction of dynamic views, and the determination of root causes, all enhanced by the AWS DevOps Agent. Additionally, a specialized agent observability experience offers an evaluation-driven workflow compatible with various frameworks, including LangGraph, CrewAI, OpenAI Agents SDK, Vercel AI SDK, and Strands.

With this recent expansion, CloudWatch Omni is now accessible in the following regions: Canada (Central), Asia Pacific (Mumbai), Asia Pacific (Singapore), Asia Pacific (Sydney), Asia Pacific (Tokyo), Europe (Frankfurt), Europe (London), and South America (São Paulo). These are in addition to the previously available regions of US East (N. Virginia), US West (Oregon), and Europe (Ireland).

To begin using CloudWatch Omni, users are encouraged to create an Omni space via the CloudWatch console, configure SSO, and log in. Developers can enhance their experience by installing the free CloudWatch Omni extension for Visual Studio Code, Cursor, and Kiro.
