Aws marketplace introduces the Discovery API for catalog data access

AWS Marketplace has launched the Discovery API, providing programmatic access to product and pricing information, enhancing procurement processes and vendor evaluations.

AWS Marketplace has unveiled the Discovery API, a new tool designed to provide programmatic access to a wealth of product and pricing information within the AWS Marketplace catalog. This catalog encompasses a wide array of offerings, including SaaS products, AI agents and tools, Amazon Machine Images (AMI), containers, and machine learning models.

The introduction of the Discovery API allows buyers to integrate catalog data into their internal portals, enhancing procurement tools with up-to-date pricing and offer terms, and optimizing vendor evaluation processes. Additionally, sellers and channel partners can display product listings, public pricing, and private offer details directly on their own websites and storefronts. This feature enables customers to browse, compare, and proceed to purchase without having to leave the partner’s platform.

The API provides comprehensive access to product descriptions, categories, and pricing, both for public and private offers, as well as offer terms. This enables organizations to create customized experiences tailored to their unique software discovery and procurement needs through the AWS Marketplace.

The AWS Marketplace Discovery API is currently available in several regions, including US East (N. Virginia), US West (Oregon), and Europe (Ireland). To begin utilizing the API, users need to configure IAM permissions for their AWS account and access the API through the AWS SDK.
