The much-anticipated OnePlus Summer Launch Event is just around the corner, scheduled for July 8 at 2 PM IST, where the company will unveil its latest Nord 5, Nord CE 5, and the OnePlus Buds 4. With a few days to go, OnePlus has already teased several key specifications, highlighting flagship-grade features at competitive prices.
OnePlus Nord 5 and Nord CE 5: specs and features
The OnePlus Nord 5 marks a major leap for the series by introducing the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset — a first for a Nord device — paired with LPDDR5X RAM. The Nord CE 5, in comparison, runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Apex chip with a 6-core Mali-G615 GPU, offering notable improvements in gaming performance and efficiency.
Both devices promise significant camera upgrades. The Nord 5 is expected to feature a 50MP rear camera with the LYT-700 sensor, seen earlier on the OnePlus 13 series, alongside a 50MP JN5 selfie camera with autofocus. Both cameras support 4K at 60fps video recording and an updated Live Photo Ultra HDR mode.
The Nord CE 5 sports a 50MP + 8MP rear camera setup and a 16MP front camera, offering solid imaging capabilities at its expected price point.
On the battery front, the Nord CE 5 stands out with a massive 7,100mAh battery, capable of charging from 1% to 100% in under an hour with its 80W fast charger. Battery details for the Nord 5 remain under wraps, but it’s expected to pack a large battery with fast charging support as well.
Display and design
Both phones are tipped to feature flat OLED panels with 120Hz refresh rates. The Nord 5 is expected to sport a 1.5K resolution display, while the Nord CE 5 may feature a 6.77-inch screen. Both are likely to come equipped with under-display fingerprint sensors.
OnePlus Buds 4: specs and features
The new OnePlus Buds 4 will also debut at the event, offering dual drivers, dual DAC, LHDC 5.0 support, 3D audio, and ultra-low latency of just 47ms in Game Mode. They will be available in two colours — Zen Green and Storm Grey.
Expected pricing and availability
While official prices will be revealed at launch, early estimates suggest the Nord 5 could be priced between Rs 30,000 and Rs 35,000, with the Nord CE 5 expected around Rs 25,000. Sales for the Nord 5 are expected to begin July 9, and for the Nord CE 5, on July 12.
