Amazon Inspector is now available in the AWS Asia Pacific (Taipei) Region, offering automated vulnerability management for AWS workloads. New users can access a 15-day free trial to evaluate the service.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced the launch of Amazon Inspector in the AWS Asia Pacific (Taipei) Region. Amazon Inspector is a service that automates vulnerability management by continuously scanning AWS workloads such as Amazon EC2 instances, container images, and AWS Lambda functions for software vulnerabilities and unintended network exposure across an AWS Organization.

With this expansion, Amazon Inspector broadens its security capabilities to include the AWS Asia Pacific (Taipei) Region. The service is designed to assist customers in automatically identifying workloads, performing ongoing vulnerability assessments, and receiving actionable security insights. It specifically targets newly launched Amazon EC2 instances, Lambda functions, and eligible container images uploaded to Amazon Elastic Container Registry (ECR), scanning them for potential software vulnerabilities and network exposure risks.

For those new to Amazon Inspector, AWS offers a 15-day free trial period. During this trial, all applicable Amazon EC2 instances, AWS Lambda functions, and container images stored in Amazon ECR are scanned continuously at no charge. After the trial ends, users will incur costs based on the standard public pricing for Amazon Inspector services. Additional details can be found on the Amazon Inspector pricing page.

To begin using Amazon Inspector, users can refer to the service’s documentation or initiate their free trial to explore its functionalities.
