Roscosmos Progress 92 spacecraft heads to ISS with three tons of supplies
The unpiloted Roscosmos Progress 92 spacecraft is on its way to the International Space Station (ISS) after a successful launch on Thursday, July 4, at 3:32 p.m. EDT (12:32 a.m. Baikonur time, Friday) from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. The cargo craft lifted off atop a Soyuz rocket and is now safely in orbit, beginning its two-day journey to the station.
The Progress 92 is scheduled to dock autonomously at approximately 5:27 p.m. EDT on Saturday, July 5, connecting to the Poisk module’s space-facing port. NASA will provide live coverage of the rendezvous and docking starting at 4:45 p.m. EDT on its NASA+ streaming service and social media channels.
The spacecraft is delivering about three tons of food, fuel, and essential supplies to support the crew aboard the orbiting laboratory. Progress missions have long been a vital part of keeping the ISS operational, routinely delivering cargo and removing waste during their visits.
