Amazon SageMaker introduces support for IdC domains with serverless notebooks and data agent
Amazon SageMaker Unified Studio now supports serverless notebooks and a data agent for IdC domains, enhancing analytics and machine learning capabilities for users with IdC authentication.
Amazon SageMaker Unified Studio has expanded its capabilities to include support for serverless notebooks featuring a built-in data agent for AWS IAM Identity Center (IdC) domains. Previously, these features were only accessible within IAM domains. This new development allows customers utilizing IdC for authentication and access management to leverage a high-performance, serverless notebook environment tailored for analytics and machine learning (ML) tasks.
The serverless notebooks provide a unified platform for data engineers, analysts, and data scientists to conduct SQL queries, execute Python code, manage large-scale data processing tasks, execute ML workloads, and create visualizations. An integrated AI data agent enhances the development process by generating code and SQL statements from natural language prompts, offering guidance throughout user tasks. This setup allows users to seamlessly integrate SQL, Python, and natural language processing within a single interactive workspace, eliminating the need to switch between various tools based on specific workload requirements.
For instance, users can begin with SQL queries to investigate data, transition to Python for more sophisticated analytics or ML model development, or utilize natural language prompts to automatically generate code. The notebooks are supported by Amazon Athena for Apache Spark, enabling scalability from interactive SQL queries to processing data at a petabyte scale.
The features of the SageMaker notebook and data agent are available in all AWS Regions where Amazon SageMaker Unified Studio is supported. For further information, users can refer to the SageMaker notebooks user guide and the SageMaker data agent user guide.
