Amazon Quick integrates S3 table buckets as a data source

Amazon Quick now supports Amazon S3 table buckets as a data source, enabling seamless analytics and dashboards without intermediate data layers.

Amazon Quick has introduced support for Amazon S3 table buckets as a data source, which allows users to create dashboards, conduct conversational analytics, and explore Apache Iceberg tables stored within these S3 buckets. This integration eliminates the need for intermediate data warehouses or OLAP layers, enabling seamless interaction with lakehouse data in Amazon Quick for both AI and business intelligence (BI) workloads, all facilitated by a streamlined data architecture.

This development is complemented by the Zero-ETL feature, which allows data from sources such as Salesforce, SAP, and Amazon Kinesis Data Firehose to be ingested directly into S3 table buckets. As a result, users can achieve near real-time insights with minimal dependency on data pipelines. The setup process is user-friendly; administrators need to configure S3 table bucket permissions just once, allowing authors to immediately create datasets and begin building upon them.

Datasets stored in S3 table buckets are fully accessible through Amazon Quick’s Dataset Q&A feature, which enables users to pose questions in natural language and receive answers based on the data lake, ensuring the data lake remains the primary source of truth. This new capability is now available in all AWS Regions where Amazon Quick is offered. For more information on how to get started, users are encouraged to refer to the official blog post.
