AWS Direct Connect expands 100G connectivity in Auckland, New Zealand

AWS has expanded its 100 Gbps dedicated connections at the Datacom Orbit DH6 data center near Auckland, New Zealand, enhancing private network access to various AWS Regions.

AWS has announced the enhancement of its 100 Gbps dedicated connection capabilities at the existing AWS Direct Connect facility located in the Datacom Orbit DH6 data center near Auckland, New Zealand. This development allows users to establish private and direct network access to all public AWS Regions, excluding those in China, as well as AWS GovCloud Regions and AWS Local Zones from this site. It marks the second AWS Direct Connect location in New Zealand offering 100 Gbps connections with MACsec encryption features.

The Direct Connect service facilitates the creation of a private, physical network link between AWS and a user’s data center, office, or colocation environment. This type of connection can deliver a more reliable and consistent network experience compared to those established via the public internet.
