Amazon EC2 C8gn instances now available in more regions

Amazon EC2 C8gn instances, powered by AWS Graviton4 processors, are now available in additional regions, offering enhanced compute performance and networking capabilities.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced the expansion of its Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) C8gn instances, which are now available in additional regions including Asia Pacific (Jakarta, Hyderabad, Tokyo), South America (Sao Paulo), and Europe (Zurich). These instances are powered by the latest-generation AWS Graviton4 processors and offer up to 30% improved compute performance compared to the previous Graviton3-based C7gn instances.

The Amazon EC2 C8gn instances are equipped with the latest 6th generation AWS Nitro Cards and provide up to 600 Gbps of network bandwidth, marking the highest network bandwidth available among network-optimized EC2 instances. This enhancement allows users to enhance networking capabilities, thereby optimizing the cost and performance of network-intensive workloads such as network virtual appliances, data analytics, and CPU-based artificial intelligence and machine learning inference.

For those requiring increased scalability, the C8gn instances support sizes up to 48xlarge, offering up to 384 GiB of memory and up to 60 Gbps of bandwidth to Amazon Elastic Block Store (EBS). Additionally, they support Elastic Fabric Adapter (EFA) networking in sizes 16xlarge, 24xlarge, 48xlarge, metal-24xl, and metal-48xl, which reduces latency and enhances performance for workloads on tightly coupled clusters.

The C8gn instances are now available in numerous AWS Regions including US East (N. Virginia, Ohio), US West (Oregon, N. California), Europe (Frankfurt, Stockholm, Ireland, London, Spain, Zurich), Asia Pacific (Singapore, Malaysia, Sydney, Thailand, Mumbai, Seoul, Melbourne, Jakarta, Hyderabad, Tokyo), Middle East (UAE), Africa (Cape Town), Canada West (Calgary, Central), South America (Sao Paulo), and AWS GovCloud (US-East, US-West).
