Samsung Galaxy Z Fold and Flip 7 launching in 6 days: everything we know so far
Samsung is all set to unveil its next generation of foldable phones — the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 — in just six days at its Galaxy Unpacked event. The event, expected on July 9, could also bring surprises like the Galaxy Watch 8 series and the first-ever Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. Here’s everything we know so far about the much-awaited devices.
Galaxy Z Fold 7: slimmer, sharper, and bolder
Recently leaked live images of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 revealed a striking new Blue Shadow colour, likely to be the hero shade this year. The Fold 7 appears noticeably slimmer than its predecessor, with reports suggesting a thickness between 3.9mm to 4.5mm when unfolded, making it Samsung’s thinnest Fold yet.
On the back, the Fold 7 retains a vertically-stacked triple rear camera setup on a raised island. But the big change comes in the selfie camera department — Samsung seems to have abandoned the under-display camera from the Fold 6, opting instead for traditional hole-punch cameras on both the outer and inner screens.
Spec-wise, the Fold 7 is expected to feature a 6.5-inch cover display and an expansive 8.2-inch inner AMOLED panel. Powering it could be Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, paired with at least 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The highlight, however, could be a massive 200-megapixel primary camera sensor, possibly borrowed from the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
Galaxy Z Flip 7: bigger, sleeker, and smarter
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 also promises meaningful upgrades. Renders show a slimmer design and larger outer screen, reportedly increasing from 3.4 inches to around 4 inches. Like the Fold 7, it may come in Jet Black and Blue Shadow colour options.
Inside, the Flip 7 is expected to sport either the Snapdragon 8 Elite or Exynos 2500 (depending on the region), with improvements to durability and multitasking.
Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE: the first Fan Edition foldable
Adding to the excitement, Samsung is reportedly introducing its first Fan Edition (FE) foldable — the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. While images are yet to leak, case-maker leaks have already confirmed the name. This budget-friendly foldable could be powered by the Exynos 2400e and deliver a more affordable foldable experience.
What else to expect: Galaxy Watch 8 series
Alongside the foldables, Samsung is likely to debut the Galaxy Watch 8 lineup — including a standard Watch 8, a Watch 8 Classic, and a rugged Watch Ultra 2.
Final word
With the official launch just days away, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 already look like Samsung’s most refined and ambitious foldables yet. While the leaks have given us plenty to be excited about, all eyes will be on July 9, when Samsung will finally lift the curtain on its next-generation devices.
